Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how BracketLove, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you visit our website www.bracketlove.com (the "Site"), use BracketLove League, BracketLove Tournaments, or the BracketLove Player Registry, on the web or in our mobile applications, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").

Please read this policy carefully. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: Name, nickname, email address, phone number, profile picture, and any other information you provide when creating an account, joining a league or tournament, or contacting us.
• Play Information: The leagues, teams, seasons and tournaments you take part in and your role in them; registrations, match results, scores, placings, statistics and skill ratings; and pictures of paper scoresheets that a captain or director uploads.
• League and Tournament Finances: Dues, fees, payments and prize payouts recorded by league and tournament directors. These are records only: the Services do not process these payments or store card or bank details. If you subscribe to a paid plan, the payment is handled by our payment processor, and we do not store your card details.
• Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and other diagnostic data collected automatically in our server logs.
• Cookies and Device Storage: Information stored in cookies and in your browser or device, as described in Section 6.
• Location Data: Your device's location, only if you allow it, to find tournaments near you; and the addresses of venues.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information in the following ways:

• Directly from you: When you register, fill out forms, score matches, or communicate with us.
• From league and tournament organizers: When a director or captain adds you to a league, team or tournament, records your results, or uploads a scoresheet.
• Automatically: Through cookies and server logs when you interact with our Site or Services.
• From third parties: Such as our sign-in provider, when you sign in, and our payment processor.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes, including:

• Providing, maintaining, and improving our Services
• Processing transactions and sending transactional emails
• Keeping schedules, standings, statistics, ratings and playing history, and showing them to the other members of your leagues and tournaments and, where an organizer makes them public, to anyone
• Responding to inquiries, support requests, and feedback
• Sending promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)
• Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, security issues, or technical problems
• Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service Providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate our Services: Auth0 (sign-in), DigitalOcean (hosting, databases and file storage), ClickSend (SMS messages), Anthropic (reading pictures of paper scoresheets into scores), Geocodio (finding venues' locations), Apple, Google and Expo (push notifications), and Stripe (payment for paid plans).
• Across our Services: BracketLove League and BracketLove Tournaments share one record of each player through the BracketLove Player Registry (name, account, teams, skill ratings and playing history), so that you are one player, with one rating and one history, in whichever of them you use. Contact details in the Player Registry are kept private.
• Other Members: The members of your leagues and tournaments, and their organizers, see what those Services show them, such as your name, team, results and statistics.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or government request.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• With Your Consent: For any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection.

5. Communication/SMS/Opt-Out

By providing your phone number when you self-register for a tournament (and confirming your consent) you are opting to receive SMS text notifications from BracketLove limited to notifications regarding your tournament matches and invitations and registration reminders for later Tournaments. Message frequency may vary. Standard Message and Data Rates may apply.

At any time you may respond "STOP" to any of these SMS notifications to opt out of receiving any further messages, or reply "HELP" to any SMS notification for assistance.

We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you signed in: each of our Services sets its own session cookie
• Remember which of our Services you last signed in to (the "bl_app" cookie), so that www.bracketlove.com can take you straight back to it
• Remember your preferences and keep information on your device so that you can keep scoring without a connection

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not show advertisements.

When you choose to play a table's video stream, the stream's provider (such as YouTube or Twitch) may set its own cookies; their privacy policies apply.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit functionality.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Request data portability
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities

Our Services may contain links to external sites not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. Video streams of tables are provided by the venues through third-party services.

Our Services are not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will take steps to delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
