BracketLove

Modern solutions for competitive pool.

BracketLove builds software for the people who play and run competitive pool: leagues, tournaments, and the player records they share. Everything we make is designed around a few simple principles.

  • Easy to use, and out of the way. The software should never be the hardest part of the night.
  • Transparent for players. Players see the brackets, results and records that affect them, as they happen.
  • Simpler for organizers. Less paperwork and fewer clicks, so directors can spend their time on the game.

How they fit together

Leagues and tournaments each keep their own nights, but they share the Player Registry: play a league season and a tournament, and it's one player with one history.

Why an open Player Registry

Pool's player data is held today in a handful of closed systems: data monopolies that decide who can see a player's record, and on what terms. That isn't good for players, organizers or the pool community as a whole.

The BracketLove Player Registry is built to move away from that. It's open, so app developers can access the dataset and contribute to it, and a player's record isn't locked inside any one app. It doesn't impose a rating or handicapping system: leagues, tournaments and the apps that serve them keep using the systems they choose.

Its first domain is billiards, but it's designed from the start so data for other sports and games can be added.
